Quick-Find:

Evolution

If you are using an earlier version of Evolution, please update by visiting:

Please open Evolution and follow the steps below.

When you see the word username, that should be your actual username.

For example, if your address is johndoe@whidbey.net, your username would be johndoe

1. Click the Tools menu and select Settings...

2. Select your Whidbey account, then click the Edit button

3. Click the Receiving Mail tab.

4. If Host contains mail.whidbey.com, change it to mail.whidbey.net.

If it doesn't contain "whidbey" at all, this is not a Whidbey Telecom account.

5. Next to "Use Secure Connection (SSL) Type", choose "Always"

6. Click the Sending Mail tab.

7. If Host contains mail.whidbey.com, change it to mail.whidbey.net.

8. Check the box next to "Server requires authentication".

9. Next to "Use Secure Connection (SSL)", choose "Always"

10. Under "Authentication", choose "Type: PLAIN".

11. Type your username into the "Username" field.

12. Check the box next to "Remember password".

13. Click OK at the bottom, and Close in the Evolution Settings window.

Please remember to perform this change on any other computers you use.
