Outlook Express, Outlook 2000, Windows Mail, and Windows Live Mail
| Please open Outlook Express and follow the steps below. When you see the word username, that should be your actual email address.
For example, if your address is johndoe@whidbey.net, your username would be johndoe@whidbey.net, if your address is johndoe@whidbey.com, your username would be johndoe@whidbey.com, if your address is johndoe@pointroberts.net, your username would be johndoe@pointroberts.net, etc. |
1. Click the Tools menu and select Accounts...

2. Click the Mail tab, select your account (which will likely be labeled as your email address or either 'mail.whidbey.com' or 'mail.whidbey.net'), then click the Properties button

3. Click the Servers tab.
4. If the mail server fields contain mail.whidbey.com, change them both to mail.whidbey.net
5. Ensure your Account Name is set as your full email address.
If they don't contain "whidbey" at all, this is not a Whidbey Telecom account, so click Cancel.
6. Ensure there is a checkmark in the box next to "My server requires authentication"

7. Click the Advanced tab
8. Ensure there is a checkmark in both boxes next to "This server requires a secure connection".
Your outgoing server port should be set to 465, and your incoming should be 995 for POP or 993 for IMAP

9. Click Close at the bottom and return to the Accounts window when complete.
10. If you have other Whidbey Telecom accounts listed, repeat the steps for each account
| Please remember to perform this change on any other computers you use. |
