Why doesn't the volume control on my remote work? Can I control the volume on my TV not the STB?
We recommend locking the volume controls to your TV, which will work for all devices connected to that TV set.
Locking Volume Controls to One Device
- Press the STB button
- Set volume to level 25
- Hold down the setup button until the TV light blinks 2 times (takes about 2-3 seconds)
- Press volume up
- Press TV
Note: The volume control can also be locked to a surround sound system with the same steps. Follow the steps above but use the AUX button rather than TV.
My volume keeps fluctuating. Some shows, channels, or commercials sound louder than others. What can I do?
Try disabling Dynamic Sound/Audio/Volume/Range Control - this will vary depending on your TV set. Example: On Vizio brand TVs, this setting is called SRS True Sound under Menu -> Audio Settings.
If you still experience volume fluctuations or your TV set does not have this feature, push the STB button on your remote and go to Menu -> Settings -> Audio -> Digital Audio Output and make sure it is set to Stereo and not Surround Sound.
Can I make the LAST button only swap between two channels?
Yes. The Recent Channels panel can be disabled, so that the LAST button will on go back and forth between the last two channels you've selected. Follow the instructions below.
Disable/Enable the "Recent Panel"
- Press the MENU button on your remote
- Go to Settings > Television > Recent Panel
- Select “Turn the recent panel feature off”
- Save your selection.
