If you call someone with Caller ID, your number can be displayed and stored…even if your number is unpublished or unlisted. You can prevent your number from appearing on others’ Caller ID units. It’s easy to do this in one of two ways, and there is no monthly charge for either.
Dial *67 before entering the number of the call. Your number will be blocked for that individual call. When you hang up, per call blocking will be turned off. You can decide to use per call blocking whenever you want. You don’t have to order this feature; it is automatically part of your service from us.
If you order Line Blocking for your account, your number will be blocked for all of your outgoing calls, except calls to 911. Line blocking also does not prevent your telephone number from being sent to your long distance carrier. When you have Line Blocking, you can unblock your information for individual calls if you like: just dial *82 before entering the number you’re calling.
Remember: When you use per call blocking or line blocking, if the person or business you call has Caller ID, “private” or “anonymous” will be displayed on the Caller ID screen. Some people may choose to reject calls that do not identify the calling number. If you want to complete such calls, you should not activate per call blocking before dialing, or if you have line blocking, you should unblock your information by entering *82 before the number you’re calling.
