Something spooky is brewing in one of Washington State’s oldest communities…

The Haunting of Coupeville is a collection of community-driven events that bring a safe and small-town atmosphere to a fun and creepy holiday. From 1 to 100, all are welcome to cackle, “boo”, and shriek in delight and terror.

Enjoy the scarecrow trail, the local graveyard, hay bales and pumpkins for a picturesque scene, and so much more! Beginning the 1st day of October and ending on the 31st.

Scarecrow Trail Throughout Coupeville

Coupeville’s getting scary in the Scarecrow Trail! This year’s theme is Scooby Doo. Pick up a map of where to find scarecrows at the Chamber of Commerce or Coupeville Library and vote for your favorite scarecrow.

Weary Bones Rest Stop Graveyard – Coupeville Rec Hall Parking Lot

Can be accessed through Rec Hall parking lot on Coveland or from Alexander Street, next to the Chamber of Commerce. Please be careful not to disturb the… residents! Carefully stroll through Weary Bones Rest Stop Cemetery and delight in the wording on the gravestones. However, use caution, not all our cemetery residents rest in peace!

Scenic Isles Pumpkin Patch – 46. S Ebey RD Coupeville, WA 98239

Weekend Fun (October Saturdays & Sundays, 10am–5pm)

  • Trolley rides out to the pumpkin patch
  • Family activities for all ages
  • Haunted Barn (starting October 11, 1–5pm | $7 entry | recommended 12+, depending on sensitivity)
  • Sunflower Spook — spooky sunflower trails with a straw tower and games (fun for all ages!)

Weekday Visits (October, Monday–Friday)

  • Farm stand open daily for pumpkin purchases
  • Every October on the weekdays we welcome pre-school/school groups for field trips to the pumpkin patch (trolley rides to pumpkin patch for the public are on the weekend!). 
Witches’ Walk – from the Coupeville Wharf, October 18

Group wharf photo, witch street dance led by the Witches of Skagit Cosplay line dancers, costume contest, discounts & more! $15 per ticket; includes a tote bag, wristlet & pin for the first 75. Plus, a drawing to win a night at the Captain Whidbey Inn!

Practical Magic Movie Night – from the Coupeville Wharf, October 23 -25

Celebrate Pracitcal Magic in the town where the quintessential witchy film was brought to life! Don your most enchanting costumes and get ready for a night of magic, fun, and community spirit. Tickets $11; available September 15th. This is a 21+ event with margaritas, beer, and wine available for purchase. Must show valid ID for entry!

Ales & Apothecary – Haller House, 1 Front Street, October 25

Magic and merriment come together at the Ales & Apothecary brew garden in the heart of Coupeville’s historic district. Nestled next to the historic Haller House, this cozy, witchy retreat is the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the autumnal atmosphere. This is a 21+ event. Valid ID required for entry.

Torchlight Parade & Street Dance – Front Street, Coupeville, October 25

Step into a Halloween wonderland with the Torchlight Parade & Street Dance on Saturday, October 26th! This family-friendly event is the perfect way to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year in Coupeville!

The Great Coupeville Pumpkin Race – Alexander Street, Coupeville, October 26

Rev up your gourds and get ready for a rollicking good time at The Great Coupeville Pumpkin Race! This high-energy event is the grand finale of a Practically Magic Halloweekend, bringing together locals and visitors alike for an afternoon of fun, competition, and a touch of Halloween magic.
