Location: Langley, WA
Indigenous Peoples’ Day is proudly observed in many communities, cities and states. This day serves to celebrate the history and culture of Indigenous peoples and to acknowledge the challenges they still face. It is also a day to reflect on the dispossession and violence against Indigenous people.
The Whidbey Island Native Connections Initiative is planning to honor all Indigenous people by gathering in Langley to celebrate and help educate ourselves and the public about the resilience of Indigenous peoples.
The gathering will begin at the park on the corner of 2nd and Anthes at 1:15 pm, after the Open Table meal at the United Methodist Church. Please bring a gift of a food item for the local food bank, Good Cheer.
