How can I stream the Seahawks playoff game and the Super Bowl for free?

BY Lourdes Snow

Streaming NFL football is hard due to extreme content fragmentation, requiring multiple subscriptions (YouTube TV, Prime Video, Peacock, ESPN+, etc.) for different games, plus complex regional blackouts, and the NFL’s restrictions (like NFL+ only on phones), all while these platforms compete for valuable broadcast rights. It forces fans to juggle numerous services.

To watch the Seahawks’ playoff run for free, timing is everything. Since the Seahawks play their first game this Saturday, Jan 17, you can “ladder” your free trials to cover the entire postseason through the Super Bowl.*

Here are the current best free trial offers as of January 2026:

1. The “Powerhouse” Trial: YouTube TV

This is your best bet for the Seahawks vs. 49ers game and the next two weeks.

  • Trial Length: 21 days (Standard as of Jan 2026).
  • What it covers: FOX, NBC, CBS, ABC, and ESPN.
  • Strategy: If you sign up this Friday (Jan 16), your trial will last until February 6. This covers the Divisional Round (Seahawks game), the Conference Championships, and the Pro Bowl. It ends just two days before the Super Bowl.

2. The “Super Bowl” Trial: Fubo or DirectTV Stream

Since YouTube TV’s 21-day trial will likely expire right before the Super Bowl, use one of these for the big game on February 8.

  • Fubo: Offers a 5-day to 7-day free trial. It carries NBC, which is where the Super Bowl will be broadcast.
  • DIRECTV STREAM: Offers a 5-day free trial.

3. The “Budget Backup” Trials (Individual Apps)

If you only want to watch specific games:

  • FOX One: Offers a 7-day free trial. This is perfect for the Seahawks game this Saturday if you don’t want to sign up for a larger service.
  • Paramount+: Note: Paramount+ is currently phasing out free trials and raising prices (starting Jan 15). If you want to watch AFC games (like the Bills or Chiefs), check if the 7-day trial is still active before the 15th.
  • Prime Video: 30-day free trial. This covers the Thursday/Saturday exclusive games (like the Packers vs. Bears game that just passed).

Important Tips for “Trial Hopping”

  1. Use Different Emails: These trials are for “new customers.” If you’ve used your main email for one of these in the past, you may need to use a different one to qualify.
  2. Set “Cancel” Reminders: Streaming services are notorious for charging the moment the trial ends (YouTube TV goes up to $82.99/mo). Set a calendar alert for 24 hours before the trial expires.
  3. Check Peacock: For the Super Bowl, Peacock is the cheapest paid option ($10.99) if you run out of trials. Occasionally, they offer a “first month for $1” deal around the playoffs—keep an eye out for that in early February!
