2026 Thunder Run, on June 13th, 2026 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Venturi Way, off Crawford Road

The Thunder Run at W10 Airpark is a community emergency preparedness exercise designed to strengthen Whidbey Island’s response capabilities and resiliency during a large scale disaster.

This year’s drill expands beyond the airfield, beginning in local neighborhoods and moving through communication channels that include the Fire Department and the Department of Emergency Management.

Local pilots will operate aircraft as part of the exercise, gathering and transporting requested resources back to the island to simulate emergency supply delivery when normal access may be limited.

Community donations of resources, including nonperishable food, will be collected during the event and donated to Good Cheer Food Bank afterward.
